Michael E. Cowart

Michael E. Cowart, age 76, of Ball Ground, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012. Michael was a member and Past Master of Ducktown Lodge #572 F&AM and Georgia Mountain Daylight Lodge #758. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Ulyesses and Annie Lee Cowart; brothers, James Cleveland Cowart, Jerry Leneal Cowart; son, Kevin Cowart.



Survivors include his wife Sara Samples Cowart of Ball Ground; Children, Joseph (Sally) Woods of Coal Mountain, Suzanne (Bradley) Evans of Ducktown; brothers, John Harold and Willene Cowart of Atlanta; Hugh Dorsey and Ruby Neal Cowart of Alpharetta, Kenneth Lamar and Jelane Cowart of Dawsonville; mother-in-law, Alma McGinnis Samples of Cumming; sister-in-law, Linda Buffington of Gainesville; grandchildren, Alexander Woods, Austin Woods, Christopher Woods, Dylan Evans; nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 p.m. at Bethelview United Methodist Church with Rev. Deborah Griffith and Rev. Nancy Meeker officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6 to 9, and Tuesday, from 9 until the hour of service.
