Barbara Ellen Saye McLeroy

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Barbara Ellen Saye McLeroy, age 72, of Athens, GA, who passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012, after an extended illness. Mrs. McLeroy was born in Athens, GA, a daughter to the late James Thomas Saye and the late Hazel Weatherby Saye. Mrs. McLeroy was a Homemaker and a member of Prince Ave. Baptist Church. She loved looking after her family and friends, and her greatest joy was serving others, cooking, decorating and shopping. Mrs. McLeroy's brother, John Saye, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, J. L. McLeroy, Athens, children, Tammy Wilkes, Jefferson, Greg (Cindy) McLeroy, Clarkesville, Rusty (Debbie) McLeroy, Athens, Chuck McLeroy, Athens, sister, Elizabeth Saye Myer, California, brother, Jimmy Saye, Ila, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mrs. McLeroy will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Saye and Rev. Keith Holladay officiating. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 1-3pm at the funeral home, prior to the service. A private burial will take place on Sunday, August 5, 2012 in the Bethany United Methodist Church.
