James A. Welborn

Mr. James A. Welborn, age 88, of Gillsville, GA died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Northridge Health and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Welborn was born in Banks County, GA to the late William H. and Maggie Eller Welborn. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was a poultry and cattle farmer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Welborn was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Lou Sanders Welborn.

Mr. Welborn is survived by his daughters, Joleen Ferguson of Gillsville and Kay W. Harris of Lula; son, Aaron Welborn of Commerce; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Wednesday, August 1 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. David Harbin and Rev. Tim Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 5 to 8 PM.
