Jessie Merle Greenway Rider Garrett

Mrs. Jessie Merle Greenway Rider Garrett, age 84 of Oakwood, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend David Matthews and Dr. Robert Klassen officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Garrett was born December 26, 1928 in Maysville, GA to the late Charlie and Bessie Barns Greenway. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Bernice Dale.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by her husband, Claude R. Garrett, Jr. of Oakwood; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Lee and Brenda Rider of Dahlonega; stepson, Charles Robert Garrett of Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Ashley Sailors of Commerce; grandson and wife, Ronnie Lee Rider II and Amanda of Cumming; grandson, Reggie Rider of Conyers; granddaughter and husband, Andrew and Amanda Johnson of Dahlonega; great-grandson, Ryder Johnson; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Rider; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Johnson; brother, Jerry Greenway of Gillsville and a good friend, Nana Deloch of State Line, Mississippi.
