Richard Dean Simpson

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Richard Dean Simpson, age 66 of Cleveland. Mr. Simpson passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at his residence.

A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday July 26, 2012 at Gateway Memory Park with Rev. Donnie Wilkes and Rev. Calvin Gooch officiating.

Mr. Simpson was born in Anderson, South Carolina on January 1, 1946 to the late Paul and Gertha Lepard Simpson. He owned an upholstery shop and also created stain glass windows for churches. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy Simpson and Danny Ray Simpson, sister Janette Stone and by his grandchild DJ Thompson.

Survivors include his loving wife Helen Harkins Simpson, daughters Laura Poss, Cleveland OH, Elizabeth Simpson, Charlotte SC, Deltia Ferguson, Cleveland, GA, Denise David, Dahlonega and Ginny Marquis, Gainesville; brothers Dewey Simpson, Gary Simpson, and Mike Simpson, as well as five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his dog Bandit.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 25, 2012 from 5 pm to 8pm.
