Virginia Lanelle Smith

Mrs. Virginia Lanelle Smith, 74 of Murrayville died Thursday July 19, 2012.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Grady and Clara Mae Kitchens Smith. She was retired from the Hall County School System having taught at Lanier Elementary School for 30 years. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Dennis Ray Smith, Murrayville; daughters and sons-in-law; Denise and Randall Conner, Lisa and Tommy Wilson, all of Murrayville; grandchildren, Brandi Paul and her husband Joe of Gainesville; Austin Conner and Morgan Smith, both of Murrayville, great grandchildren, Taylor Paul and Sophie Paul, both of Gainesville, sister, Evalou Kelley, Gainesville. Brother-in-law; Lee Smith, Gainesville; sister-in-law, Patsy Baum, Gainesville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Betty and Ernest Gaddy, Lula; sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Mary Ann and Larry Lee, Gainesville, sister-in-law, Martha Hayes, Oakwood. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday July 21, 2012 at the Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Franklin Grant and Rev. Kyle Savage will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Friday July 20, 2012 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mrs. Smith.
