George Allen Moser, Jr.

Obituary Date: Thursday, July 12, 2012
George Allen Moser, Jr., age 87 of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.


Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Oakwood First United Methodist Church. Reverend Glenn Parrish will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 15, 2012 after the service at the church.


Mr. Moser was born March 17, 1925 in Danville, Virginia to the late George Allen Moser, Sr. and Eunice Ballew Moser. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp at 17 years old to serve in the South Pacific during WW II, First Marine Division until end of the war when he was honorably discharged at that time. Recalled into Marines during Korean War in 1951 and served until January 1952, once again honorably discharged. George retired from Honeywell Corporation as a salesman and was a member of Oakwood First United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband to Billie Jo Teague Moser for 64 years.


Mr. Moser is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Moser of Oakwood, daughter & son-in-law, Monica & Jack Claxton of Flowery Branch, son & daughter-in-law, George Allen III & Susan Moser of Dawsonville, grandchildren, John Matthew & Kristen Claxton, Joseph Allen & Callie Moser and Alexander Bernard Moser and great-grandchildren, Garrett Tyler Claxton and Rachel Elizabeth Claxton.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oakwood First United Methodist Church, 4315 Allen Street, Oakwood, Georgia 30566.
