Jack (Gene) Smith

Mr. Jack (Gene) Smith, 81 of Lula died Monday July 9, 2012 at his residence.

Born in Hapeville, Georgia, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Stanley Monroe and Lena Mae Alexander Smith. He had lived in Hall County for the past 30 years after a long career in sales at the Atlanta Envelope Company. He served in the United States Marines Corps and was a member of the Gainesville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughters,Renae Caviness, West Chester, PA, Cathy Dyches of Lula, GA, brother and sister-in-law; Wilbur C. and Katherine Smith, Signal Hill, TN, grand-daughters; Chelsey Megan Dyches of Atlanta and Lindsey Cathryn Dyches, Lula, sister-in-law Dorothea Sumner and family of Lithia Springs, GA and brother-in-law and family Lawrence Merle Brown of Marietta, GA, along with many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Ellen Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday July 11, 2012 at the Gainesville First United Methodist Church Chapel. The Rev. Wendy Cordova will officiate. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday July 10, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday July 11, 2012 from 2-3 p.m.
