Nellie Burdett

Nellie Burdett, age 85, of Milton, passed away at her home, Sunday, July 08, 2012 surrounded by her family. Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Eula Aaron. She was the widow of Winton McClain. Nellie was an avid songwriter, loved to garden and was devoted to her church. She will be missed by many friends and loved ones whose life she touched over the years.



Survivors include her husband, Thomas Burdett, Jr.; daughters, Fayenelle Baxley, Julie Thom, Corliss Hicks and Elaine McClain; grandchildren, Matthew Carden, Christina Carden, Kevin Thom, Amanda Thom Wright, Matthew Hicks, Gabriel Hicks; 9 great grandchildren; sons-in-law, Daniel Baxley, Danny Thom; siblings, Mattie McClain, Helen Avery, Wendell Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.



Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, Georgia. Brother Clarence Mills and Rev. Rex Gallups will officiate. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, Milton, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 8 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
