James Palmer Boyd

Mr. James Palmer Boyd, age 73, of Toccoa, passed away, Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home.

Born April 30, 1939 in Lyons, GA, he was a son of the late James Harrison and Bertha Lou Wood Boyd.

He was a member of the Toccoa Masonic Lodge #309. Mr. Boyd served as past Master, past High Priest in R. A. M., past Illustrious Master of E. L. McConnell Council #40, past Commander of Philemon Commandry #33; and a member of the Allied Masonic Degrees in Blue Ridge Council #377. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and was a former employee with Ingles.

Family members include his wife, Sarah Love Boyd; son, James H. Boyd; a daughter, Stephanie Sheriff; brother, Dewey Boyd; sister, Jessinell Chambers; and three grandchildren, Kirk Sheriff, Joseph Boyd, and Elizabeth Boyd.

Graveside services will be held at eleven o'clock Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Roselane Cemetery.

Burial will follow.

Brothers of Masonic Lodge #309 will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm - 9pm Tuesday.

Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
