Henry Preston Wilkerson, Sr.

Mr. Henry Preston Wilkerson Sr, age 94, of Murrayville, GA, Lumpkin County, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, GA.

Mr. Wilkerson was a native Floridian and former resident of Tampa, FL. He was a retired helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Army, serving in WWII and Korea. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was the son of the late Sinus Preston Wilkerson and Ila Elizabeth Laird Wilkerson and was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Thelma Fielding Wilkerson; stepson, John Weingard; granddaughter, Gidget Marie Moore; brothers, Hiram and Hurtis; sisters, Lillian, Fannie and Olive.

Mr. Wilkrson is survived by son and daughter in law, Henry P. Wilkerson Jr and his wife, Celeste, Dahlonega, GA; daughters and son in law, Mary Kozak, Dahlonega, GA, Barbara and Jim Clements, Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Preston, Kate, Melissa, and Brian; great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Devin, Cody, Devin, D.J., Hope, and Faith. A number of other relatives also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Wilkerson are scheduled for 11 AM Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. J R Fields will officiate.
