Dave Collins

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Dave Collins, age 88, of Commerce, GA, who passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012. Mr. Collins was born in Appling County, GA, a son to the late Asa and Mae Davis Collins. Mr. Collins was retired from the Roper Pump Company and was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII. Mr. Collins was a member of the Brockton Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Joyce Anthony Collins, Commerce, daughter, Deborah Herndon, Social Circle, grandchildren, Beverly (Gary) Lance, Commerce, David Murphy and Scotty Murphy both of Pendergrass, 4 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 2PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Mealor and Rev. Carl Mealor officiating. The burial will follow in the Braselton Church of God of Prophecy with David Samples, Chris Samples, Danny Crane, Ike Murphy, Adam Murphy and Wesley Clackum honored as pallbearers. The visitation for Mr. Collins will be held on Saturday evening from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
