Floyd Jackson "Jim" Suggs

Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Monday June 11, 2012 in Wards Funeral Home Chapel for Floyd Jackson "Jim" Suggs, 89, of Gainesville. The Rev. John Lance will officiate.

The Family will receive friends 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Monday at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Suggs passed away Friday June 8, 2012 surrounded by loving family and friends at Bentley Assisted Living in Jefferson, Ga. after a couragious battle with Alzheimers.

He was a World War II Army Veteran , who during his long life enjoyed camping, traveling, woodworking and gardening. He retired from the City of Gainesville as Cemetery Sexton for Alta Vista Cemetery. He was loved and will be missed by many friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd & Cora Jones Suggs, son Randy Suggs, wife Alice Suggs, grandson Chris Reed, brothers Jesse "Bud" Suggs and Clarence Suggs, sisters Edna Suggs and Sara Pool.

Survivors include Son Ron Suggs, Daughter & Son-in-law Frankie and Dennis Reed, of Gainesville. Grandchildren Misty Roach, Kim Akins, Russell Reed, Matt Suggs, Randy Suggs, Misty Allen, Lindy Suggs Martin, Great Grandchildren Addison, Caleb & Riley Suggs, Devin Allen, Jonathan Payne, Haley & Logan Roach, Hannah, Zack & Sarah Akins, Elizabeth & Olive Reed, Brothers Larry Suggs and Roger Suggs, Sisters Violet Autry & Joann Honeycutt, numerous neices & nephews, also by his friend and Mother of his Children Jewell Suggs and special friend Darlene Slaton and many friends from Bentley Assisted Living.
