Lawrence Virgil Padrick

Obituary Date: Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Lawrence V. Padrick, 72, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, June 05, 2012.

He had a positive attitude, infectious laughter, loved life, and after nine courageous months following a severe stroke joined his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Comer Padrick, Sr.; brother, Comer Padrick, Jr. and other loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, stepson, Greg Kametches and wife Kristen, 2 grandchildren, nephew, Martin Padrick; niece, Tara Naugle, two great-nephews, his extended family and many loyal friends.

One of Larry's greatest joys was helping other, volunteering for the community, formerly active in the Marietta Jaycees, Scoutmaster, Order of the Arrow and former Eagle Scout, Little League, Officer for Woodmen of the World, National Fraternal Congress, IAWP, to name some of his activities, during the 1950's he owned and operated the Tip Top Record Shop in Decatur and later worked as Director of Internal Security for the State of Georgia for 34 years. He was a graduate of Druid Hills High School and earned his Master's Degree at Atlanta Law School.

The family has requested no flowers but donations to Discover Sunday School, marked for Armed Forces c/o Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road Atlanta, GA 30305, or your favorite charity.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 22, 2012, in the WILSON Chapel of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, Dr. Steve Huntley presiding.
