Dorothy Chastain Wiley

MRS. DOROTHY CHASTAIN WILEY, age 86 of Cornelia, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Habersham County, Georgia on May 13, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Ophelia Woodall Chastain. Mrs. Wiley was a cook for many years at the Tastee Freez and also at the Stew & Cue Restaurant where she was well known for her famous biscuits. She was a member of the B.C. Grant Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Fisher Wiley, infant son, Lee Wiley, brothers, Vance, J.A., and Amos Chastain, and a great-grandson, Trevor Goodson. Mrs. Wiley was a very loving mother, grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Todd & Kay Wiley, Cleveland; Dolores & Charles Irvin, Demorest; grandchildren, Sharon & Randy Goodson, Alto; Jeff & Carol Irvin, Laura & David Waters, Eric & Heather Welborn, all of Clarkesville; great-grandchildren, Tanner Goodson, Taylor Goodson, Tyler & Whitney Goodson, Nathan & Kelly Shewbert, Christian Waters, Jessica Waters, Katie Welborn, Hadley Welborn, Ty Loggins, & Taylor Loggins, great-great-grandson, Bryson Shewbert, life-long special friend, Mary Wilson, Cornelia; several nieces, nephews, cousins, & a host of friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the B.C. Grant Baptist Church with the Rev. Garry Garrison and Todd Wiley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Parker officiating at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday.
