Sara Cox Roper

Sara Cox Roper, 63, of Cumming passed away Thursday May 24, 2012 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Born August 20, 1948 in Dawson County to the late Wayne and Nellie Cox, she had lived in Forsyth County most of her life. A homemaker, Sara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Herbert Roper, and brother, Joe Lane Cox.

Surviving are her children, Rodney and Kelly Roper, Dawsonville, Kristi and Nathan Wehunt, Cumming; grandchildren, Spencer and Hayden Roper, Cooper and Jud Howard, Nellie Grace Wehunt; sisters and brothers in law, Joyce and Hugh Smith, Cumming, Deanna Mullinax, Cumming, Judy and Lamar Roper, Cumming, Fran and Ralph Gravitt, Cumming, Anita and Andrew Bearden, Dawsonville; brothers and sisters in law, Judy Cox, Dawsonville, Douglas and Jane Cox, Dawsonville, Greg and Kaye Cox, Dawsonville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 26, 2012 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Vernie Worley, Rev. David Skinner and Rev. Wilson Pruett will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends all day Friday and Saturday until the service hour at the funeral home.
