Ann Norma Cooper

Ann Norma Cooper, 66, of Roswell, died on May 21, 2012. Born in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of George and Irma Shapiro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Teresa Galvin Bradford. Teresa was her natural born mother, whom she had the pleasure to meet later in life.
Ann was a loving mother and grandmother who lived for the joy of her grandchildren. She loved all animals but especially her horse Fresh Start and her dogs Spanky, Spud, Emily and Puppy.
In her teenage years Ann was a member of the National Polar Bear Club and Certified by the American National Red Cross as a Canoeing Instructor, Handicapped Swimming Instructor and Life Saving & Water Safety Instructor.
She was a graduate of Adelphi University in Garden City, New York (1967, BS Physical Education).
Before beginning her incredible life as one of the greatest stay-at-home moms of all-time, Ann taught high school. As her children grew into their teenage years, she began her third career as a real estate agent for Northside Realty.
She is survived by daughter Amy Conway of Marietta, GA; sons Steven Cooper of Cumming, GA and Jonathan Cooper of Canton, GA; grandchildren Taylor and Paige Cooper of Cumming, GA, Dallas and Kelly Ann Conway of Marietta, GA and Luke and Cade Smith of Canton, GA; sisters Joy Secretario of Hawaii, Carolann Bradford of Texas, Diane Wyatt of Texas and Susan Martin of Lousiana; and her step-mother Julie Shapiro of Hawaii.
Visitation services will be held Wednesday May 30th from 5-8pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org), the Humane Society (www.humanesociety.org) or the World Wildlife Fund (www.worldwildlife.org).
