John Vernon Wilkinson, Sr.

Mr. John Vernon Wilkinson, Sr. age 81, of Toccoa died Thursday, May 17, 2012, at his home.

Born May 3, 1931 in Stephens County, he was the son of the late Joe and Mildred Purcell Wilkinson.

He was a member of the Tates Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Wilkinson was a farmer, saw mill owner and drove a school bus for the Stephens County School System.

Family members include; wife, Bobbie Bell Wilkinson; Son, John Vernon Wilkinson, Jr., and Son and Daughter-in-law Steven Wayne and Gail Wilkinson; Grandson, Kevin Blake Wilkinson; Granddaughter, Brittany Hope Wilkinson. 2 Sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.

Funeral Services will be held at Twelve Noon Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Whitlock Mortuary Chapel with Rev, Jerrell Beaty, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Tates Creek Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday, May 18, 2012.
