Jewel Dove Ivester

Mrs. Jewel Dove Ivester, age 95, of Toccoa, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa.
Born February 3, 1917, in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtice Stonecypher Dove.
Mrs. Ivester, a homemaker, was a self-employed baker and had also worked in retail sales. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for 63 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Emory Ivester and a son, Charles Ivester.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, O'Neal and Marlene Ivester of Grapevine, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Sid Meyer , Jean and Charles Ward, both of Gainesville and Kathy and Danny Leverett of Toccoa; brother, Hugh Dove and Lucille of Danielsville; a sister, Elizabeth Horne of Royston; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and five half-brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Eleven o'clock Thursday, May 17, 2012, from the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty, Rev. Andy Childs and Rev. Jerry Stowe officiating.
Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday.
