Herndon Edward Rowe

Memorial services for Herndon "Hank" Edward Rowe, age 72, of Hoschton, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Pastor Landon Frymire, Dr. Bill McLean, Mr. Gene White, Dr. Gary Stough, and Mr. John Lunsford will officiate with a reception to immediately follow the service.

Mr. Rowe died on May 9, 2012.

Born in Miami, Florida on April 13, 1940 Mr. Rowe was the son of the late Herndon C. and Edna Moredock Rowe. After high school Hank graduated from Emory University. He was a retired educator and businessman. Mr. Rowe taught at Habersham Central High School where he was the Student Council Advisor and he also taught at Lee Arrendale State Prison. In his business career Hank was the owner and operator of International Harvester of Florida and a part owner of Cherokee Landing on Lake Burton. He was the owner of Appalachian Travel Agency and the broadcast television hunting and fishing show, Classic Adventures.

Mr. Rowe had many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors, as well as playing golf and spending time with his loving family and many friends. Mr. Rowe was a member of the Karma Club, Rotary International, and Bethabra Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Lane Milner Rowe of Hoschton, daughters and sons in law Leslie and Duane Stephenson of Baldwin, Nancy and Bret Bennett of Belleair, Florida, and Theresa and Kevin Gaddis of Demorest, sons and daughters in law Mike and Tonya Rowe of Ridgeway, South Carolina, Danny and Marilyn Howard of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Lance and Holly Perry of Demorest, and grandchildren Kyle and Maile Stephenson, Blake and Bailey Gaddis, Riley and Sydney Perry, Buck Rowe, Maggie and Will Bennett, Cara and Xander Howard.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethabra Baptist Church, 1054 Old Thompson Mill Road, Hoschton, GA 30548.
