Bernard Mason

Mr. Bernard Mason, age 81, of Dahlonega, GA, died May 6, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Mason was born in Lumpkin County. He retired from National Steel after 40 years as a Locomotive Engineer.

He was the son of the late Henson Mason and Margaret Christy Mason. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ellen Mason, Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Phyllis Mason, Hendersonville, Tennessee; 2 granddaughters, Laura Nanavaty and Julie Thacker; 2 great grandchildren, Keira Nanavaty and Zoe Thacker.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Philippi Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Rev. Jason Fuller and Rev. Jerry Whitlock will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 2 PM until 4 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM on Monday May 7, 2012 and on Tuesday until the service time.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
