Phomma Satiphone, age 66, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Mr. Satiphone was born on March 2, 1946, in Luang Prabang, Laos. He was a son of the late Xieng Souk and Nang Toum Satiphone. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. Xieng Dam Thammavong and Mrs. Nang Chanta Thammavong. Mr. Satiphone was a member of the Wat Lao Buddha Sattha Dham Temple and the Lao Families Association of Habersham County. He retired from Mt. Vernon Mills with over 29 years of dedicated and faithful service.
Survivors include his wife, Phaensgy Satiphone, Alto, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Korina and Lyle Robertson, Demorest, GA; sons, Somdee Satiphone, Alto, GA, Amnart Satiphone, Atlanta, GA, and Chris Satiphone, Alto, GA; sisters, Oun Satiphone and Pheng Satiphone, both of Laos; brothers, Khamla Satiphone and Souvanh Satiphone, both of Laos; and grandchildren, Collin Satiphone Robertson, Kurstin Robertson, Somdee Satiphone, Jr., and Sonny Satiphone.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with the Monks from the Wat Lao Buddha Sattha Dham Temple and the Wat Lao Buddha Ram Kham Bouanheung Temple, and the Leaders of the Lao Families Association of Habersham County will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
