Charles "Wayne" Gravitt

Obituary Date: Thursday, May 3, 2012

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 3, 2012, at Memorial Park Cemetery for Charles "Wayne" Gravitt, 72, of Gainesville. Rev. Ray Newman will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00.

Born on April 30, 1940, in Gainesville, GA Mr. Gravitt was a lifetime resident of Hall County, he was the son of the late R.P. and Rosa Elizabeth Overby Gravitt. He attended Lyman Hall School. He was employed with City Plumbing and with Goforth Electric for a number of Years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Clay Gravitt and father-in-law George Haynie.

Mr. Gravitt is survived by his wife Jeanette Haynie Gravitt of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Denise Gravitt of Hazlehurst, GA; son, Chris Gravitt of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Jonnie Gravitt of Clermont; sisters, Eunice Cantrell and Mildred Vandiver both of Gainesville; brothers, Harold Gravitt, Lloyd Gravitt both of Gainesville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eric and JoAnn Wood of Jasper, Bill and Lorraine Haynie of Braselton; brother-in-law, Jimmy Haynie of Newnan; brother in law and sister in law, David and Carol Haynie of Fayetteville; mother-in-law, Gaynelle Hurley of Chicopee and beloved granddog Noah.
