Mr. Chris Gardner, 58 of Gainesville died Sunday April 29, 2012 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Chris had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School Class of 1971 and a graduate of North Georgia College. He was co-owner of The Coffee Shop at Lawrence Pharmacy in Gainesville and was a member,deacon and member of the Sanctuary choir at the First Baptist Church on Green Street. Chris was very active with the Gainesville Parks and Recreation Department where he coached Little league football and baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Kimbrell Gardner, Gainesville; daughter, Alicia Gardner, Gainesville; son, Jay Gardner, Sandy Springs; parents, Howard and Amanda Gardner, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Don Tatum, Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Kathy Williams, Gainesville and Martha Kimbrell,Watkinsville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church on Green Street. Dr. Bill Coates will officate. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday May 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Son Rise Camp, Inc., 720 Piedmont Rd., Gainesville, Ga. 30501 or the Music Department at the First Baptist Church, 751 Green Street, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 in memory of Chris.
