Ruby Chumbley

Ruby Chumbley, 77, of Marble Hill passed away Friday April 27, 2012 at Kennestone Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born January 29, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Clyde and Clara Mann, she lived in Marble Hill since 1998 having moved from Lithia Springs. A homemaker at her death, Ruby was formerly employed by Genuine Parts and Atlanta Envelope. Mrs. Chumbley loved travel working with flowers in the landscape of her home. She was a member of Amicalola Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her brother, Hubert Mann.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, J. Carson Chumbley, Marble Hill; children, Johnny Chumbley, Talking Rock, Rita Chumbley, Stockbridge; sister, Ruth Greenway, Marble Hill; grandchildren, Jore Chumbley, Michael Chumbley, Travis Chumbley, Melanie Chandler; 9 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday April 30, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Stradley and Rev. Dave Holbrook will officiate. Interment will follow in the Amicalola Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 until 7 at the funeral home.
