Horace Carlton Land

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday April 27, 2012, in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home for Horace Land, 79, of Gainesville. Pastor Raymond Latty will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00. Interment will follow Alta Vista Cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, he was born on October 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Carlton C and Bessie Whelchel Land. He was a veteran of the US Army and owned and operated James Electric for 41 years. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church,

Mr. Land is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Land of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Irene Land of Hiawassee; sister Sarah Louise Clark of Michigan; nephews, Rick Land of Jasper, Tony Land of Tampa, FL, Tommy Clark , Glen Clark both of Michigan and niece Pat Clark of Michigan.
