Elsie Lee (Strickland) Burke

Mrs. Elsie Lee (Strickland) Burke, age 84, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Oaks at Limestone in Gainesville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow at 3:00 pm at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia. The Reverend Vic Bledsoe will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the funeral home.


Mrs. Burke was born in Millen, Georgia on March 28, 1928, the daughter of the late William D. Strickland and Susie (Johnson) Strickland. She was a member of Shiloh Hill Baptist Church in Kennesaw, GA.


Mrs. Burke is survived by her husband, Robert Burke of Kennesaw, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Burke) and Dave Mitchell of Norcross, GA; daughter Brenda Burke of Kennesaw, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Cathy Burke of Cleveland, GA; son, Kevin Burke of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Eula McMillan of Braselton, GA; Louise Sherrod of Millen and Jeraldine Davis of Jackson, GA;
