Brady Vasco Tatum
Obituary Date: Monday, April 23, 2012
Funeral services for Brady Vasco Tatum, age 92, of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 11:00 AM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Dr. Don Drawdy will officiate with interment to follow the service in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Tatum died on April 23, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on June 6, 1919, Mr. Tatum was the son of the late Vasco Solomon and Mary Mercialla Allen Tatum. Mr. Tatum was a retired chicken and cattle farmer and member of Providence Baptist Church. Serving in Normandy as a gunner in the 92nd Armored Field Artillery Battalion in WW II, Mr. Tatum was involved in the European-Middle Eastern Campaign. Mr. Tatum attained the rank of Corporal and received several medals and citations during his military career. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tatum is preceded in death by wife Eulene Barron Tatum, brothers Allen, Alonzo, Kermit, and Jack Tatum and sisters Mme and Rosalie Tatum.
Survivors include wife Evonne Tatum, son Brady "Butch" Tatum, Jr., and son and daughter in law David and Lisa Kennedy Tatum all of the Batesville Community, son and daughter in law Danny and Paula Littlejohn Tatum of Tallulah Falls, brother John Tatum of the Batesville Community, stepchildren Debbie, Richard, Gene, and Mike, grandchildren Brandon Tatum and wife Mary Katherine, Dustin Tatum, Kevin Tatum, Travis Tatum, Shawn Tatum, Carrie Tatum, and Josh Tatum, as well as great grandchildren Haydn Tatum, Karis Tatum, Adelaide Tatum, and Thatcher Tatum.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
