Harold Dennis Sims

Funeral services for Harold Dennis Sims, age 59, of Demorest will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Stacy Miller and Rev. Michael Stewart will officiate with interment to follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sims died on April 22, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Habersham County on October 5, 1952, Mr. Sims was the son of Evelyn Dixon Sims and the late Harold Venson Sims. Mr. Sims was a self employed car dealer and he had a great love for animals. In addition to his father, Mr. Sims is preceded in death by brother Ricky Sims.

Survivors include wife Marsha Turpin Sims of Demorest, mother Evelyn Dixon Sims of Gainesville, special nephew Nicholas Dixon of Clarkesville, brothers Tony Sims of Gainesville and Ronnie Sims of Homer, sister Vicki Sims Skorput of Gainesville, special great niece Skylar Rose Dixon, and his beloved pets.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to: John B. Gesbocker Animal Shelter, 555 Monroe Street, Unit 20, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
