Carroll Lamar Sheridan

Obituary Date: Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Funeral services ares scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church for Carrroll Lamar Sheridan, age 66. of Gainesville. The Rev. Earl Pirkle and Rev. Brian Malcolm will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday and Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Ward's Funeral Home. Mr. Sheridan passed away Monday, April 16 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.


Mr. Sheridan was born November 1, 1945 in Gainesville, GA., to the late Roy and Kate Webb Sheridan. He graduated from East Hall High School in 1963 and attended Marsh Business College in Atlanta. Mr. Sheridan enlisted with the Marine Corps from 1964-1968 and served in the Vietnam War in 1964-1965. He was a true Marine to the end.

A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church he retired from Frito-Lay after 28 years of service and recieved the Top Gun award for sales excellence in 1999. He later worked parttime for UPS and then J.C. Penney. Mr. Sheridan was a beloved Father, Papa and Friend. Along with his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Aubry Sheridan.

Survivors include daughter and son in law, Tracy Eline and Scott Sheridan, Gainesville; grandson, Hayden Scott Sheridan, Gainesville; Brother and Sister-in-law, Darrell and Blondine Sheridan, Gainesville; Mother-in-law, Catherine Black, Commerce; Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Laws, Harvey and Kathy Black, Gainesville; Clyde and MaChell Black, Buford; Best Friend, Janet; Sisters-In-Law and Brother-In-Laws, Diana and Royce Cash, Commerce; Eveyln Stevens, Nashville, TN.; Imogene and Micheal Gray, Roanoke, VA., Donna and Jerry Parks, Gainesville, Lisa and Keith Phagan, Lula; a number of nieces and nephews; Girlfriend, Angelica Tabor of Gainesville.
