George A. "Andy" Messer

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. George A. "Andy" Messer, 72, of Jefferson, Ga. who passed away Tuesday April 17, 2012 at his residence after a period of declining health.

A native of Richmond, Virginia, Mr. Messer was a son of the late George Washington Messer and the late Doris Seward Messer. Mr. Messer was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Messer retired from AT&T where he served in many capacities but most recently as a manager. Mr. Messer was a member of Nicholson Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of almost 52 years, Joan Messer, Jefferson, Ga., Sons, Guy Messer, Brooks, Ga., Chris Messer, Spring Field, Va., and Jason Messer, Jefferson, Ga. brother, Jimmy Messer, Richmond, Va., sisters, Mary Piotrowski, Florida, and Linda Messer, Richmond, Va. and 7 Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be planned in Richmond, Va. at a later date.
