Victor L. Maret

Victor L. Maret, 62, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday April 7, 2012 at Duke University Hospital following an extended illness.

Born March 15, 1950 in Dekalb County, he had lived in the Chestatee Community of Dawson County for the past 11 years having moved from Gwinnett County. Mr. Maret was employed by Ingersoll Rand for over 20 years and was currently Vice President of Sales. He served in the Army Nation Guard for 28 years and retired with the rank of Lt. Col. Victor enjoyed golf, was a member of Chestatee Golf Club and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Maret.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Vicki Maret, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Carrie Maret Crews, Roswell, Kimberly and James O'Connor, Jefferson, Sarah and Zach Haislip, Dallas; mother, Sarah "Johny" Maret, Lawrenceville; sister and brother in law, Judith and Tony Keyeck, Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Madison Crews, Kelsey O'Connor, Jacob Crews, and Kiley O'Connor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 12, 2012 at 11 o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yahoola Baptist Church Cemtery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
