Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 3, 2012
Mrs. Betty Jean Bidgood Wyatt, age 81, of Auburn, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 following an extended illness. Formerly of Dublin, GA, Mrs. Wyatt had moved to Auburn, several years ago, to be closer to her daughter. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at 3PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, Buford. Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, prior to the service, from 1-3PM at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow on Monday, April 16, at 12PM at Northview Cemetery, Franklin Street, Dublin, GA 30121, with Rev. Bobby Hutto officiating.

Betty is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Tammi and Gary Fountain, Auburn; Son, Russell Mayo, FL; daughter, Davan Jenkins, VA; grandchildren, Steven Phillips, Jr. (Jessica), Shanna Mayo, Jennifer Greeson, Tommy Lynn Jenkins, Jr., and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Betty retired as an Equal Opportunity Specialist with the Federal Railroad Administration. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and had served as a radio repair specialist from 1953 to 1954 with the 30th Air Transport Squadron. In her later years, Betty found peace by singing with her church choir.
