Luther E. Stevenson

Mr. Luther E. (Dick) Stevenson, 85 of Murrayville died Wednesday April 4, 2012 at the Chestatee Regional Hospital.

Born in Thomson, Georgia, Mr. Stevenson was the son of the late General Pearson and Sybil Victoria Tankersley Stevenson. He had lived in Hall County for over 54 years, and was retired from the Hall County Public Works where he worked in the road maintenance department. He had also served in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Aline Stevenson, Murrayville; daughters, Nancy Dunton, Gainesville, Starr Gentry, Mason, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law; Jane and Lamar Askew, Murrayville; Elaine and Bruce Abbott, Dawsonville; Jennifer and Wes Fogle, Gainesville; Joan and Mike Stokes, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law; Nathan and Beverly Stevenson, Murrayville; over 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law; Linda and Bob Kendrick, Chatsworth, Ga., brothers and sisters-in-law; Hubert and Lorene Stevenson and Charlie Daniel and Mary Ruth Stevenson, all of Eton, Ga., Fred and Linda Stevenson, Dalton. A number of nieces and nephews also survive,

Mr. Stevenson will be cremated and the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
