Charlie George Thomas, Sr

Charlie George Thomas, Sr., age 95 of Cleveland passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Thomas was born on March 13, 1917 in Cleveland to the late Joseph (Joe) G. and Milbury Reid Thomas. Mr. Thomas was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrtie Bell Thomas, brothers: Jesse Thomas, Jody Thomas, Riley Thomas and sisters: Annie Rose Herndon and Pearl Alexander. Mr. Thomas was a life long resident of White County where he was a self employed carpenter and farmer. He was inducted in the White County Farmers Hall of Fame and was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church.

Survivors include: son: Donald Thomas, Marietta; sons and daughters in law: William and Louise Thomas, Richard and Frances Thomas, Roy and Bobbie Thomas, Dennis & Patsy Thomas, Charlie Jr. and Barbara Thomas, all of Cleveland. Grandchildren: Paul, Jackie, Greg, Julie, Johnny, Amanda, Emily, Charlsie and Trey, 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Mt. View Baptist Church. The Rev. Mike Irvin, the Rev. Terry Head and the Rev. Dave Fortner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
