Myrtle D. Swinehart

Myrtle "Sug" Duckett Swinehart, age 89, of the Hollingsworth Community, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin.

Mrs. Swinehart was born on July 8, 1922, in Banks County, Georgia; a daughter of the late Marion R. and Anna Nunnally Duckett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Swinehart. Mrs. Swinehart was a graduate of Baldwin High School. She and her late husband, Tom, were church planters for a number of years. After retirement they moved back to the Banks and Habersham County areas. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.

She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Swinehart was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Pastor Mark Vandiver and Ken Duckett officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the funeral home.
