Patricia Ann Cooney

Patricia Ann "Pat" Cooney, age 69 of Dacula, died March 24 following a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. March 29 at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church. Dr. Dave Davis will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. March 28 at the funeral home. The family request in lieu of flowers contributions be made to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org in memory of Pat Cooney. Mrs. Cooney is survived by her husband, Bob Cooney, Dacula; sons and daughters In-law, Robert and Tracy Cooney, Auburn and David and Jessica Cooney, Braselton; son, Thomas Cooney, Atlanta; grandchildren, Matthew Cooney, Joshua Cooney, Jason Cooney and Megan Cooney. Pat was a native of Seymour, Ind., and had lived in the Atlanta area the past 31 years. She graduated from Mercer University where she earned her Master of Education degree. Pat was a teacher with the Gwinnett County School System where she retired with 30 years of service. She was a member of Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church.
