Eva "Tip" Raines

Mrs. Eva "Tip" Raines, age 92, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at New Horizons West Nursing Home in Gainesville, GA.

Mrs. Raines was born in Vonor, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and member of Yahoola Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Jake Millsaps and Fannie Gooden Millsaps. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buck Raines; sons, John Raines and Jim Raines; grandsons, Robert Taylor and Vance Raines; six half-sisters; one half-brother; and three brothers.

She is survived by daughters, Bernice Taylor, Murrayville, GA, Marie Fields and Ann Chester, both of Dahlonega, GA, Lois (Edwin) Pirkle, Flowery Branch, GA; daughters-in-law, Betty Raines, Dahlonega, GA, Betty Major Raines, Murrayville, GA; sister, Isabelle Taylor, Madisonville, TN. 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4 PM Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Yahoola Baptist Church.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Sandra Elrod will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Monday March 26, 2012 from 3 PM until 9 PM and on Tuesday March 26th until 3 PM.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
