Claude Benson Martin

Claude Benson Martin, age 99 and lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012.

He was a member and the oldest deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Martin operated Martin's Greenhouses for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Julia Martin; brother, Benjamin Martin.

Survivors include wife of 78 years, Faye Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Phyllis Martin; grandchildren and their spouse, Brandon and Leshia Martin, Corey and Amanda Martin Dana and Phillip Pratt; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, C. F. Martin and Paul Martin; and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Sorrels and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until hour of service.
