R.T. Hardy

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for R.T. Hardy, 74, of Colbert who passed away early Monday morning at the Ty Cobb Healthcare Center in Comer.


Born in Banks County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Willie Mae Evans Hardy and was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Frank Hardy. Mr. Hardy was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of the residence, Beverly Bates Hardy; children, Tammy Everett of Tennessee, Russell Hardy of Alabama and James Hardy of Texas; siblings, Betty Turner of Athens, Mary Drake of Ila and Aaron Hardy of Banks County; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM.
