Dennis Clarence Griffin

Mr. Dennis Clarence Griffin, age 60, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, March 19, 2012 at Lakewood Baptist Church with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Dr. Tom Smiley and Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the funeral home.

Mr. Griffin was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia and was the son of the late Raymond Washington Griffin and Margery (Clements) Griffin. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church where he served as deacon minister and several years in the children's ministry. Dennis was retired from the Hall County Library System and worked for the State of Georgia as a caseworker in the Community Care Services Program. He was preceded in death by his parents; grand parents, Arthur and Sophronia Griffin and Jake and Martha Clements.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sandi (Parrish) Griffin of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Stephanie Griffin of Dawsonville; Abby Griffin of Gainesville; granddaughter, Kenadie Grace Griffin of Dawsonville; brother, Ray Griffin of Dalton; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Lakewood Baptist Church Seeds of Hope 2235 Thompson Bridge Road Gainesville, GA 30501.
