Mildred Watson Davis

Mildred Watson Davis, age 96 of Demorest, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at Habersham Home West.
Born in Demorest on April 12, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Mae Church Watson. She was a faithful member of the Cornelia United Methodist Church for over eighty years, where she sang in the chancel choir and taught in the Children's Sunday School Department for many years. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and also worked at Belk Gallant in Cornelia for a number of years. She was a charter member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors of North Georgia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Roy Davis; her sister, Christine Seymour; and her brothers, Earl, Lorraine and Lawrence Watson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Charlie Wood of Demorest; her son and daughter-in-law Charles and Sherry Davis of Cornelia; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and special long-time caregivers, Julia Rautenberg and Judy Crowe.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Cornelia United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Hughes, Rev. Mitch Evans and Rev. Julia Rautenberg officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
