Vermon Wright

Vermon Wright, age 90, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012.

Mr. Wright was born in Hall County on June 19, 1921, to the late William Luther and Vallie Patton Wright. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by first wife, Sylvia Matherson Wright, stepson, Larry Long, his brothers, Lawrence, Amos and Carvin Wright and his sister, Virginia Copeland. Mr. Wright was the oldest active member of Level Grove Baptist Church having become a member in 1944. He was a deacon and a member of The Adult Sunday School Class, where he served as secretary. He was a retired employee of Schnadig Corporation with 19 years of service.

Survivors include his devoted loving wife of 35 years, Faye Newsome Long Wright, Cornelia, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Doug Davis, Ellenwood, GA and Joy and Clay Echols, Alto, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Geneva Wright, Forest Park, GA; stepson and wife, Ronnie and Cathy Long, Cornelia, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Hoyt Rudeseal, Cornelia, GA; sisters, Floyce Mallory, Cornelia, GA and Reba Lee Barry, Milton, FL; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.



Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Brian James and Waymon Kimbrel officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
