Brenda J. Smith

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Brenda J. Smith, 58, of Athens who passed away on Friday at the St. Mary's Hospital in Athens. Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Janet Louise Beard Bennett. Survivors include her husband of the residence, David V. Smith, Sr., children, Mary Purvis of Homer, Janet Michelle Wills of Commerce, David V. Smith, Jr. of Jefferson, siblings, Sandy Chandler of Clermont, L. David Bennett of West Virginia and Jimmy Williams of Athens, 6 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-8 p.m.
