Homer Douglas Adams

Obituary Date: Friday, March 9, 2012

Mr. Homer Douglas (Doug) Adams, age 55, of Murrayville, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 09, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.


Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Wahoo Baptist Church with interment to follow at Wahoo Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County. The Reverend Ken Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Hall County Fire and Gainesville Fire Services will serve as honorary pallbearers.


Mr. Adams was a lifelong Hall County resident, born December 4, 1956. He was the son of Homer Thomas Adams and the late Nancy Lenora (Crane) Adams. He was a lifelong member of Wahoo Baptist Church, with a strong faith and love for his Lord, Jesus Christ.

Mr. Adams was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed riding his Harley Motorcycle and had a passion for food and loved cooking on the grill. He had a great love for his wife, children and grandchildren, family and friends. Mr. Adams worked for Maclanburg Duncan and IMS Gear for a number of years.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife Debbie Adams of Murrayville; father, Homer T. Adams; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Kelly Adams; daughter and son-in-law, Dana Hallman and Henry Miller; grandson, Brian Hallman; granddaughters, Ally Miller, Mary Katherine Miller, Bailey Hallman, Maggie Dean Adams and Ella Nora Miller; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Adams and David Gravitt; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Lynn Adams; nephews, Matthew and David Osani; mother-in-law, Yvonne Fassett; father-in-law, Frank Renner; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Mary Renner; his beloved bird dog, Ron; and a number of aunts, uncles and other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenora Adams; grandmother, Harriett Stringer and grandfather, Bill Crane.
