Thomas Joseph Byrnes, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Joseph Byrnes, Jr., 63 of Lula died February 20, 2012 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A native of Athens, Georgia, Mr. Byrnes had lived in Gainesville since 1967. Mr. Byrnes was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient, he was a graduate of Brenau University and was retired from the Gwinnett County Medical Center where he was the head radiologist.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law; Melissa and Joel Malcolm Sosebee, Lula and nieces, Hannah Byrnes Sosebee and Rebecca Byrnes Sosebee.

There will be no services held at this time. Mr. Byrnes will be cremated and the cremains will be buried in the family plot in the Alta Vista Cemetery.
