Edward Maznicki

Obituary Date: Tuesday, February 14, 2012
Edward Maznicki, a veteran of World War II who served with the 380th Bomb Group in the Pacific Theatre, died Tuesday, February 14, at his brother's home in Mt. Airy, Georgia after a brief but severe illness. Final arrangements as to burial are pending.



He is servived by his daughters, Sue Kucera of Virginia Beach, VA, and Denise Leffert of Pahrump, NV; granddaughter, Kelly Seith and great-grandson, Logan Seith, also of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Helen Schultz of Argonne WI and Genevieve Jaworski of E. Hartford, CT; brother, Theodore Maznicki of Mt. Airy, GA; many nieces and nephews in Wisconsin, Illinois, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida and California. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne-Louise, and brothers, Joseph and Stanley.



Edward was a tail gunner on a B-24 bomber and saw combat in the New Guinea, Philippines, and Japanese Islands campaign of World War II. He also served in the Korean War and in the Vietnam theatre. He was honorably discharged after 27 Years of service but continued as civilian consultant to the Air Force for a number of years. On retirement he became a volunteer SCORE counsel to small business entrepreneurs.



The family requests that any memorial gifts be given in Edwards' name to the charity of the donor's choice.
