Mark Gregory Benfield

Mark Gregory Benfield, 41, of Clayton, GA passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.

He was born in Clayton, GA on December 31, 1970, and was the son of Bill M. and Janie Watts Benfield.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Melanie June Goss Benfield; two children, a son, Madison Benfield, and a daughter, Mariah Benfield, both of the home; and two brothers, John Benfield of Clayton, and Scot Benfield also of Clayton.

Mark was a carpenter and worked for McCrackin Builders, Inc., and was a member of Joy Baptist Church. He loved his church, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing. Mark was a loving and caring husband and father. He was an inspiration and blessing to many people that he came into contact with.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 1 PM to 2 PM and from 6 PM to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Joy Baptist Church on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 3 PM with Chris Webb, Tony Goss, Jonathon Fitzpatrick, and Johnny Jeft officiating. Burial will follow in Joy Baptist Church Cemetery.
