Mary G. Reed

Mary G. Reed, 92, of Dawsonville passed away Friday February 10, 2012 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born May 1, 1919 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late John and Ora Disharoon, she move to Dawson County at age 3 where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and a member of Juno Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vester Reed; sister, Ophie Dodd; and brothers, Clyde Disharoon and Hoyt Disharoon.

Surviving are her children, Lavonia and David Field, Dawsonville, Edwin and Donna Reed, Dahlonega, Ruby and Tommy Chumley, Dawsonville, James "Buddy" Reed, Dawsonville; sister, Louise Vaughters, Dawsonville; sister in law, Oletta Disharoon, Dawsonville; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday February 12, 2012 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bottoms will officiate. Interment will follow in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
