Thelma McCollum

Thelma Mae Scott McCollum, age 93 of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at her residence follow an extended illness.

Mrs. McCollum was born December 19, 1918 in Cleveland to the late Arthur Luther and Sadie Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband George W. McCollum and granddaughter Stephanie Leah Hester Nickalous; sisters Betty Wilson, Juanita Scott, brother Jack Scott, brother in law, Lon Ratledge. Mrs. McCollum was a homemaker and worked at Talon Inc. for 27 years.

Survivors include daughters and sons in law: Joyce & Donald Bentley, Jane & Jim Hester all of Cleveland; sons and daughters in law: George, Jr. and Betty Lynn McCollum, Gainesville and Don & Wanda McCollum, Cleveland; grandchildren: Beth Doyle, Jeff Bentley, Eric Bentley, Bridget Connor, Renee Adams, Scott Hester, Adam McCollum, Dusty McCollum, Kelli McCollum, Erin McCollum, Patrick McCollum; brothers and sisters in law: Charles & Marie Scott, Beverly Hills, FL and Bob and Allene Scott, Madisonville, TN; sister: Lorraine Ratledge, Maryville,TN; sister in law; Frances Scott, Lenoir City, TN and brother in law: C.L. Wilson, Madisonville, TN; 18 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. A special thanks to her caretakers, Kelli McCollum and Jessica Andrews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 10, 2012 at Blue Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Verner London and Judge Garrison Baker officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
